The Get-away that almost was.....

Over Veteran's Day, we decided to head up to Prescott to the cool weather and spend a couple of nights in a hotel. We just wanted to get away, not do much of anything, and enjoy the quaint small town!

Caleb, however, had other plans. On the hour-long drive north, his nose started to run. A lot. He seemed fine though. We checked in to our hotel, and went to have some soup for dinner @ Olive Garden. We were there a whopping 10 minutes, and our child proceeded to throw the hugest temper tantrum of his short life. We were "those people". You know--the ones everyone stares at in public places. Chad took him to the car, where Caleb threw an Elmo doll and a marshmallow at Chad, and didn't let up in the slightest. We had to leave, it was so bad!
The night went on much like this--he woke up every hours...ALL...NIGHT...LONG. Cryyyyying. He didn't feel great, and was in an unfamiliar place. Not a good mix. By 4am, I was on the stiff hotel sofa, w/ him sleeping on top of me.

Very sleep deprived, we decided to head home the next morning, but not before going into town to walk around and play in the leaves w/ Mr. Crabby Pants. This was Caleb's 1st real 'autumn' experience, and despite his endless snot-drip, he had fun!
